West Indies veteran all-rounder Kieron Pollard has wreaked havoc with the bat in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025. Pollard, a part of the Trinbago Knight Riders, played a stormy half-century innings against Guyana Amazon Warriors. He scored an unbeaten 54 off 18 balls at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on September 6, including five fours and five sixes. He came out to bat at number six. 38-year-old Pollard completed his fifty in just 17 balls. This is his fastest fifty in the CPL. At the same time, it is jointly the third fastest half-century in the overall list. Evin Lewis and David Miller have also scored fifties in 17 balls each.
The record for the fastest half-century in CPL is held by Andre Russell (in 14 balls). He is followed by JP Duminy (in 15 balls). Pollard tore apart Romario Shepherd in the last over of Trinbago Knight Riders' innings. He hit consecutive sixes on the third and fourth balls of the 20th over and then completed his half-century by hitting a four on the fifth ball. He also hit a four on the last ball. Pollard has scored his third half-century in the current season of CPL. Pollard scored 65 runs in 29 balls against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots on 1 September and 65 runs in 29 balls against St Lucia Kings on 23 August.
