Annabel Sutherland starred with a terrific all-round show as Northern Superchargers thumped Manchester Originals by eight wickets to secure a second-place finish and their spot in the Eliminator. The Australian allrounder picked up 3 for 15 to shoot down the visitors for just 94 at Headingley, before making an unbeaten 30 off 17 deliveries to overhaul the target with 35 balls to spare.
Beth Mooney made an aggressive start with three boundaries in the first set, but Sutherland cut short her compatriot's cameo on 20 off 13. At the other end, Kate Cross dismissed Kathryn Bryce cheaply to reduce Originals to 27/2 in 24 deliveries. Deandra Dottin's quick start was also nipped in the bud with Grace Ballinger getting on the board, and Linsey smith caught Amelia Kerr off her own bowling to push the tourists on the backfoot.
Alice Monagham played a handy cameo of 26 in 17 deliveries - inclusive of two sixes and as many boundaries - that set them on the course for at least a 100 but Sutherland had other plans. Nicola Carey got the set batter, and Sutherland helped clean up the tail to finish with figures of 3/15 with 10 dots in her 20 deliveries.
Brief scores: Manchester Originals 94 all out in 95 balls (Alice Manoghan 26, Beth Mooney 20; Annabel Sutherland 3-15, Nicola Carey 2-13) lost to Northern Superchargers 96/2 in 65 balls (Annabel Sutherland 30*, Alice Davidson-Richards 30, Phoebe Litchfield 26*) by 8 wickets
