BCCI to Pay Tribute to Zubin Garg
BCCI General Secretary Devajit Saikia recently announced this tribute, which will be organized in collaboration with the Assam Cricket Association. Saikia stated that, given the deep grief in Assam following Garg's passing, the ceremony will be part of the World Cup's opening ceremony. This tribute will honor Garg's storied reputation and the legacy he built over years of hard work. It is also considered the highest honor bestowed upon an Indian musician by the cricket community.
Devjit Saikia told PTI, "There is a deep mourning and grief in Assam following Zubin's death. Keeping that in mind, and as a person deserving of respect, the Assam Cricket Association and BCCI will organize a tribute program during the opening ceremony. This will be our tribute and honor to Zubin. This will be a 40-minute program in Zubin's memory, which will be the biggest tribute the cricket world can pay to him."
The first match will be played on September 30th.
