Pakistan women's cricket team will not attend the opening ceremony of the ICC Women's World Cup. Team captain Fatima Sana will not come to India even for the photoshoot.
Pakistan will not attend the opening ceremony of the ICC Women's World Cup 2025 to be held in Guwahati on September 30, as none of the team members will travel to India for the event.
Pakistan will play all its matches of the Women's World Cup 2025 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
A report by Geo Super states that the Pakistani team will not attend the 2025 opening ceremony. "A grand opening ceremony will be held before the first match of the tournament between co-hosts India and Sri Lanka at the Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, with the captains of the participating teams attending the event and the usual joint press conference and photoshoot with the coveted trophy," the report said.

However, Geo Super reported that neither Pakistani captain Fatima Sana nor any other representative from Pakistan will be coming to India to attend the opening ceremony. The channel added that Pakistan's possible absence from the upcoming event is due to the Fusion Formula, according to which from the men's Champions Trophy 2025 onwards, neither they nor India will tour each other for any ICC tournament for the next three years.
As a result, "Pakistan will play all their matches of the Women's World Cup 2025 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo." The report further added, "If the Green Shirts reach the semi-finals on October 29 and the final on November 2, both matches will also be held in Colombo." The report announced that Pakistan will begin their campaign on October 2 against Bangladesh at their scheduled venue.
In the Women's ODI World Cup starting from September 30 under the joint hosting of India and Sri Lanka, the winning team will get a prize money of $44.80 lakh (about Rs 39.55 crores), which will be the biggest prize money so far in this tournament.
