Suresh Raina has claimed that not a single Indian cricketer was in favour of playing against Pakistan or in the entire Asia Cup. The team is playing in this tournament only on the behest of the BCCI.

India played the 6th match of Asia Cup 2025 against Pakistan on Sunday night, 14 September. After the Pahalgam attack in April, there was talk of boycotting the Ind VS Pak match in the whole country, but after the order of the government, Team India had to play this match. However, during the match, the Indian players expressed their complete opposition, neither did the Indian players shake hands with the Pakistani players nor did they have any kind of conversation.

Talking to Sports Tak, Raina said, "I know one thing for sure. If you ask the players personally, you will find that none of them want to play the Asia Cup. In a way, they are forced because the BCCI has agreed to it."

He further said, "I am sad that India is playing against Pakistan, but I can also say that if Suryakumar Yadav and his players were asked their personal opinion about playing against Pakistan, they would have refused. None of them wanted to play."

Talking about the match, Pakistan, who won the toss and came out to bat first, managed to set a modest target of 128 runs in front of India. Thanks to the innings of Sahibzada Farhan (40) and Shaheen Afridi (33), without them the team would have been restricted to around 50 runs. Kuldeep Yadav made the Pakistani batsmen dance to his spin and took a total of three wickets. Apart from him, Jasprit Bumrah and Akshar Patel got 2-2 wickets each.

India easily achieved this target given by Pakistan with 25 balls and 7 wickets remaining. Captain Suryakumar Yadav played an unbeaten innings of 47 balls during this period, while Abhishek Sharma scored 31 runs in a brilliant manner.
