Cheteshwar Pujara, who played 103 Test matches for India, mentioned 4 difficult bowlers in an interview given to Times of India, in which two are South African pacers, while one bowler each is from England and Australia. Cheteshwar Pujara said, "Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel, James Anderson and Pat Cummins have been among the most challenging bowlers I have faced in my entire career." Pujara did not face Steyn and Morkel much, but he has played a lot of cricket against Cummins and Anderson. Cummins has dismissed him 8 times in Test cricket.

Pujara ended his Test career with 7195 runs. He is the eighth batsman to score the most runs in this format for India. Only Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sunil Gavaskar, Virat Kohli, VVS Laxman, Virender Sehwag and Sourav Ganguly were successful in scoring more Test runs than him for Team India. Pujara played his last international match for India in June 2023, which was the final of the ICC World Test Championship. After that match, he was dropped from the team and never got a place in the team again. He tried to make a comeback through domestic cricket, but the selectors always ignored him.
