The Indian cricket team will reach Dubai in the first week of September for the T20 Asia Cup 2025. This Asian tournament is to be played in the UAE from September 9. The Indian team's first match is against the UAE on September 10.

The 15-member Indian team led by Suryakumar Yadav will assemble in Dubai on September 4 for the T20 Asia Cup 2025 starting on September 9. Breaking from the usually set tradition, the players will reach Dubai directly from their respective places and join the team there. Earlier, the team usually used to gather in Mumbai before leaving. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the arrangements and travel convenience of the players.

A senior official of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) told PTI on condition of anonymity, "All the players will reach Dubai by the evening of September 4 and the first net session will be held at the ICC (International Cricket Council) Academy on September 5. Keeping in mind the logistical convenience, the players will be asked to reach Dubai directly from their respective cities.''

6 He further said, ''Obviously some members of the team will leave from Mumbai, but some other members feel that it is beyond comprehension to reach Mumbai first and then fly to Dubai. Anyway, it takes less time to reach Dubai than other international flights.'' India will face United Arab Emirates in its first match of the tournament on September 10 and will then face arch-rival Pakistan in Dubai on September 14. Its third group match before the Super Four stage will be against Oman on September 19.

Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana, who are included in the Indian team for the Asia Cup, are playing for North Zone against East Zone in the Duleep Trophy quarter-finals which started on Thursday, while Kuldeep Yadav is playing for Central Zone against North East Zone. When the official was asked whether Prasidh Krishna or Washington Sundar, who are among the standby players, will travel with the main team as net bowlers, he denied it.
