Sports Desk, New Delhi. The second season of the Delhi Premier League is being played these days. In the 39th match, East Delhi Riders faced Central Delhi Kings. This was a special match for the family of legendary Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag.

Sehwag's elder son Aryavir took his first step in competitive senior cricket with his debut in the Delhi Premier League. Playing for Central Delhi Kings, 17-year-old Aryavir opened the innings. Sehwag was also an opener.

Started slowly

Aryavir started steadily and scored one run off his first four balls. Soon he found rhythm against international fast bowler Navdeep Saini. Aryaveer hit two consecutive fours in the same over. He hit the first four with a fast drive over deep extra cover and the second between extra cover and long-off.

Got caught by Rawat

He repeated the same feat by hitting two consecutive fours in Raunak Vaghela's over. However, his brilliant start came to an end in the same over when he mistimed a shot and got caught by Mayank Rawat. Aryaveer was dismissed after scoring 22 runs with the help of 4 fours in 16 balls, but this short innings was enough to show fearlessness in his debut match.

Recently, Aryaveer shared a childhood memory related to his father's playing days. Delhi Capitals shared its video on social media. In this video, Ayraveer said, he remembered how he once missed watching his father batting in the IPL due to Delhi traffic. Aryavir said, "Talking about the earliest memory related to my father, I think we used to go to watch all the matches that were played in Delhi. Especially when dad used to play for Delhi Daredevils."

He told, "My first memory is that dad was playing in Delhi. Unfortunately he got out before we reached the stadium. There is a lot of traffic in Delhi during IPL and we reached the stadium late. By then dad was out."
