What happened was that in 2016, a fire broke out in Karachi's Regent Plaza Hotel. 11 people lost their lives in this accident, while 45 people were injured.

Yasim Murtaza was present in the hotel with his team at the time of the accident. Yasim and his teammates were staying in the hotel for the Super-8 round match of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. To escape the fire, Yasim jumped from the second floor of the hotel. Due to this, his heel was broken. He got treatment at his teammate Shan Masood's house. Due to this injury, his dream of playing for Pakistan was shattered, but he did not give up.

Got a chance in Hong Kong team in the year 2022

Even though Yasim Murtaza could not play for Pakistan after breaking his leg, he did not give up and kept working hard. After this, he got a chance to debut for the Hong Kong team in the year 2022.
