A fight broke out in a live match, a scuffle was narrowly avoided, now 5 players have been punished

In the eliminator match of Delhi Premier League, there was a fierce fight between the players of South Delhi Superstars and West Delhi Lions. Due to which the DPL organizing committee has taken major action against 5 players.

In the eliminator match of Delhi Premier League (DPL) T20 2025, a thrilling match was played between South Delhi Superstars and West Delhi Lions. Delhi Lions defeated South Delhi Superstars by 7 wickets. However, during this match, a heated atmosphere was also seen many times. Due to which major action has been taken against 5 players. These players have been fined for violating the code of conduct.

Major action on 5 players

This eliminator match of Delhi Premier League was played at Arun Jaitley Stadium, in which action was taken against five players due to behavior against the spirit of the game and inappropriate gestures. During this match, a fierce fight was seen between Nitish Rana and Digvesh Rathi, there was a fierce verbal war between the two players and a scuffle was narrowly avoided. During this, Nitish also showed the bat to Digvesh. Due to which action was taken against South Delhi Superstars player Digvesh Rathi under the most serious charge. He was fined 80% of the match fee for conduct against the spirit of the game under Article 2.2 (Level 2) of the Code of Conduct.

West Delhi Lions captain Nitish Rana also could not escape violation of the Code of Conduct. He will have to pay a fine of 50% of the match fee for making indecent, offensive or insulting gestures under Article 2.6 (Level 1). Rana made such a gesture during the match which was going to spoil the atmosphere of the game.

These players also got punishment

Another player of South Delhi Superstars, Aman Bharti, has also been punished under Article 2.3 (Level 1). He used objectionable language during the match, for which 30% of his match fee has been deducted. This violation was related to indecent comments heard during the game. Similarly, South Delhi Superstars' Sumit Mathur was fined 50% of his match fee under Article 2.5 (Level 1). Mathur used language, actions or gestures that provoked or could provoke an aggressive reaction from another player.

West Delhi Lions' Krish Yadav has been fined the heaviest. He has been fined 100% of his match fee under Article 2.3 (Level 2). Yadav behaved in an objectionable manner by gesturing with his bat after abusing an opposing player, which was considered a serious violation. The DPL Organising Committee took action considering the seriousness of all these cases and warned the players to maintain the dignity of the game.
